A CELEBRATION OF LIFE AND THANKSGIVING
Amelia Island Singers invite you to the first concert in its third season, A Celebration of Life and Thanksgiving. The music in this choral concert, featuring a group of 80+ choristers, will meditate on the themes of life and death. Central to the musical program is John Rutter's magnificent Requiem, scored for organ and chamber orchestra. Rutter describes his composition:
“In style and scale, Requiem owes more to Fauré and Duruflé than to Berlioz, Verdi or Britten. It is intimate rather than grand, contemplative and lyric rather than dramatic, consolatory rather than grim, approachable rather than exclusive.”
Rounding out this concert is music by Aaron Copland, Mary McDonald, Mack Wilberg, and more.
Plan to purchase your tickets early, as Amelia Island Singers' concerts sell out quickly. Details about parking and when the church doors will open will be sent to ticket buyers a week before the concert. Your tickets will be delivered to you via Eventbrite. After your purchase, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with your tickets attached. Please print your tickets and bring them with you to the concert.
